The night looked a little different than expected as due to the impacts of COVID, this year’s awards took place online, with many of the events industry dialling in to see the award winners announced.
At Showtime Event Group, we set up our own red carpet arrival, and dined socially distant, as we zoomed in to watched.
This year Showtime Event Group were finalists in THREE categories;
- Venue Operation Manager of the Year – Abi Napper
- Sales, Marketing or Business Development Person of the Year – Laura Reddaway
- Best Venue with capacity under 500 people – State Library Victoria
And we couldn’t have been prouder when Laura Reddaway was announced as the State Winner for Victoria as Sales, Marketing or Business Development Person of the Year.
Laura is Showtime Event Group’s Business Development Manager, dedicated to the MICE market and generating business for the wider group across Business Events. Showtime Event Group has a large focus on this market and is a strategic partner to the Melbourne Convention Bureau, so having an industry expert is paramount to our ongoing growth.
One of the key components of Laura’s winning nomination, was showing how she works in such collaboration with MCB and as a part of Team Melbourne, selling our city as global events destination. Laura has taken part in numerous famil programs, trade shows, and presentations with the team in the past 12 months, as MCB recorded one of their most successful periods.
Laura is also Showtime’s representative on the South Wharf Association, an initiative that works together to position the destination as a Conference, Events and Retail precinct to a growing market place.
‘I’m so lucky to work alongside so many talented people at Showtime Event Group, who continue to push the envelope, deliver exceptional events and support each other every day. 2019 was a standout year for Showtime Event Group with the reopening of the State Library Victoria and delivering over 1,600 events, catering for over 270,000 guests.’ – Laura Reddaway.
