The World Congress on Public Health was a celebration of the Associations’ 50th year and bringing together Public Health friends and colleagues from around the world. A festival of Australian culture and food was created on South Wharf Promenade with roving entertainment and pop up acts. Interactive food stations and handheld canapes encouraged guests to explore the event and discover something new at every turn.
Showtime Event Group combined five of our venues including three restaurants, the outdoor Lawn space and Showtime Event Centre to create indoor and outdoor event spaces with roving entertainment as guests arrived and networked, followed by a DJ to create an after-party and dancing later in the evening.
Showtime Event Group designed a menu with the client to showcase local produce and give delegates a unique dining experience. Over 30% of the 2,500 delegates attending had dietary requirements and a menu was created to cater for many of the dietary and cultural requirements.
Guests were greeted on arrival by native Australian ‘body art’ characters and roving ‘life guard’ stilt walkers. A bush band, youth hip hop group and fire twirlers were feature acts through the night before Showtime Events Centre opened with a DJ and dancefloor where delegates enjoyed their final night in Melbourne.
